Near fine/very good. Circa 1960s library rebind is tight and sturdy; text block slightly trimmed and mildly, evenly age toned, but quite attractive; faint abrasion to front pastedown. This translation first published in 1722 proved popular and went through more than a dozen editions over the next seven decades. Two-column format, with side-by-side Latin/English texts. Eutropius (4th century A.D.) was a Roman official and this ten chapter concise account of Roman history from its founding in the 8th century B.C. up to his own times is considered a useful adjunct to lengthier classical histories. John Clarke (1687-1734) was a British schoolmaster and classical scholar who translated quite a few ancient Roman classics. A later printing and in modern binding, but super tight and eminently handleable. .
