Stevenson (1930-2021) was elected to the Senate in 1970 and served until 1981. Among the Senate committees he served on was the Banking Committee and as Chairman of the Subcommittee on International Finance, in which capacity he often visited Asia. Interestingly, a comment about Stevenson's father, the Illinois governor and two-time presidential candidate, appears on page seven. .
