Author: WYNN, Stephen A. (introduction) Title: The Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art
Description: Las Vegas, Bellagio, n.y. Hardcover. Folio (18" X 12"). Black velvet-bound two-part presentation box with 3" X 4¼" lid inset gold-filigree bordered opening revealing color plate (portion of Van Gogh's "Peasant Woman against a Background of Wheat"), this portfolio housing 40 fine heavy stock folio color prints. Very good/fine. Presentation box faintly edgeworn only; prints pristine. Real estate tycoon and art collector Wynn introduces his collection on a single-leaf opaque sheet preceding the first of these 40 prints -- appropriately, a reproduction of Andy Warhol's three 1983 portraits of Wynn. The remaining 39 prints are in chronological order and range from Renoir's 1874 "The Loge" to Roy Lichtenstein's 1995 "Woman Contemplating a Yellow Cup." Verso of each print bears a two-column commentary on that painting and artist by various authorities. While bibliographically cryptic and the edition is uncertain, this was likely released upon the opening of the opulent Bellagio resort in 1998 and this deluxe format edition is much less common than the softbound or hardbound editions. .
