Author: GREY, Virginia (1917-2004) Title: Inscription and Signature / Unsigned Photograph
Description: Clark Gable's post-Carole Lombard girlfriend was this long-time and prolific actress, who began in films in 1927 ("Uncle Tom's Cabin"); later films include "The Moneychangers," "Airport" and "Hotel." Big and bold "Good wishes Donald / Virginia Grey" in blue ink on an irregularly-trimmed roughly oval 4½" X 2½" slip, n.p. n.y. Very good only. Four small tape stains at edges, slightly touching upon a few letters. Undated, but ca. 1960 vintage. Accompanied by a superb glossy black-and-white 8" X 10" photograph, a half-length shot of her and co-star Bill Goodwin huddling anxiously from a 1970s MCA re-release of the 1947 horror film "House of Horrors." Near fine. Staple hole at upper left corner. Also present are two 8½" X 11" promotional sheets ("77 Horror Greats") from this re-release. .
