A tight and fairly nice first edition of this "Frank Gruber Ace Mystery" -- an early title in the 18-volume "Johnny Fletcher Mystery" series featuring this "book salesman extraordinary" and sidekick Sam Cragg. Gruber (1904-69) was a prolific pulp fiction writer who penned a great many detective and Western novels. .
