Binding is fine and bright, while endpapers area bit age toned; interesting bookplate of Edward and Sama Van Winkle on front pastedown and nonauthorial 1902 gift inscription on front flyleaf. Attractive later printing (50th thousand) of the first title in this handful of humorous looks at this turn-of-the-century tycoon, who's pictureded standing boldly in tux, top hat and cigar on front board. "Hugh McHugh" was the pseudonym of George V. Hobart (1867-1923) was a once-popular, now-neglected Canadian-American author of dozens of plays, libretto, novels and songs -- including a series of slim novellas featuring brash John Henry. A delightful period piece. .
