Author: HUNTINGTON, Collis P. (1821-1900) Title: Signature
Description: The uncle of Henry E. Huntington (of Huntington Library fame) was a powerhouse industrialist and railroad magnate, one of the "Big Four" of western railroading who helped build the Central Pacific Railroad, the first U.S. transcontinental railroad. Large and bold signature in black ink beneath "Yours truly" (in different hand) on a 4½" X 1¼" slip, n.p. n.y. Very good. Lightly age toned, with last few letters of signature lightly smudged. On lined paper, clearly removed from a letter. A sharp example of this uncommon signature. .
