A nice, well colored example of this sprawling map, showing Polynesia (China at upper left, North America at upper right) with Australasia inset at lower left and "Map of the Sandwich Islands" at lower right, from the 1864 edition of "Mitchell's New General Atlas, Containing Maps of the Various Countries of the World, Plans of Cities, Etc." Attractive coloring and lovely floral border. Neatly affixed to verso is another map, "Map Showing the Seat of War" showing "Egypt, Arabia Petraea and Lower Nubia" (Rand McNally & Co. n.y.). .
