Addressed to Albert Johannsen (1871-1962), a University of Chicago geology professor who authored "The House of Beadle and Adams and Its Dime and Nickel Novels" (University of Oklahoma Press, 1950), the definitive reference work and bibliography on the subject. Mary writes, "My sister Agnes Repplier has gone been abroad for over a year & in her absence her letters come to me. I enclose you an autograph of my sister not being able to accommodate you with an autograph note.." Tipped to front flyleaf is a "Compliments / of the / AUTHOR" heavy stock 3½" X 2" card. .
