Handsome reprint (undated but circa 1940s) of this 1898 drama about "Owd Bob" the sheepdog set in northern England, the "Illustrated Edition" -- and this special copy with choice autograph addition. In 1947 a film version titled "Thunder in the Valley" was released, and front flyleaf of this copy bears a fine heavy stock 4" X 3" card signed boldly by that film's star, LON McCALLISTER (1923-2005), who signs handsome in brown fineline and dates it 9 September 1982 at upper right. Laid in is the perfect bookmark, too: McCallister's original transmittal envelope. .
