Description: This legendary and long-lived college football coach (he also coached basketball and baseball) served at the University of Chicago from 1892 to 1932 and is credited with molding a large number of future coaches and inventing or contributing to a vast number of football innovations; he was inducted into the charter class of both the College Football Hall of Fame (as player and coach) in 1951 and the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1959. Handsome and large full signature (dated 1936) in brown ink on a 5" X 3" slip, n.p. Very good. Mild age toning and inoffensive light stain at upper right, well away from signature. A superb, bold example penned at the (for him) youthful age of 74. .
