Mulliken Jr. (1922-2004), a Dartmouth graduate and WW2 tank commander with literary aspirations (a letter with writing advice from legendary editor Max Perkins to young G.I. Mulliken appears in "The Letters of Maxwell E. Perkins") who became a journalist for "Life" and "Time" magazines among others then Deputy Press Secretary for Vice President Nelson Rockefeller in the mid-1970s; above this his future wife Barbara Hanschen from whom he got the book signs and dates it February 1947, the month of its publication. .
