A volume in this reprint house's "Novels of Distinction" series" -- interestingly, a colorful printed foldout leaflet advertising this series is laid in. Delightful jacket front panel art (not used in the true first edition jacket) shows a young woman swooning in a garden, captioned "The story of a young French girl, who in the loneliness and isolation of her 'closed garden' conceives an irrational and unrequited love." A superb copy. .
