Frontispiece, 3 full-page illustrations. Very good/good plus. Light age toning to binding, mainly to spine, with endpapers faintly age toned from jacket contact; jacket edgeworn, with large chips at spine tail and along bottom of front panel. Tight and quite nice very early printing of the first title in the 4-volume "Annapolis Series" (1910-11) -- not the common Saalfield reprints of later years. Early state jacket in light beige and a thin, delicate stock that seldom survives. Ads at rear and on jacket rear panel list other series titles of early to mid teens vintage, thus approximately dating this copy. A scarce early Altemus edition in the rarely found dust jacket. .
