Smith's "Egypt's Cultural Contribution," C.H. Cramer's "Robert Green Ingersoll" and H.A. Musham's "The Great Chicago Fire, October 8-10, 1871." Tipped to the front flyleaf is a Typed Letter Signed (secretarially) from editor Angle, 1p, 8½" X 11", Springfield, IL, 19 September 1940. Addressed to Arnold F. Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar). Very good. On "Illinois State Historical Society" letterhead, Angle explains how to join the Society and notes that receipt of the "Papers in Illinois History" volume comes with membership. .
