Description: New York, United States Book Company, 1890. Hardcover. 8vo. Grey cloth with gilt and black lettering and black, brown and gilt pictorial stamping. 246pp, (1p ad). Tissue-guarded frontispiece, illustrations, patterned endpapers. Good only. While decently tight and handleable, binding is quite edgeworn (more so at head and tail of spine) and rubbed, with inner hinges started but expertly, archivally strengthened, thus tight. Later printing of Munsey's first novel, an 1887 juvenile adventure by the influential magazine and newspaper publisher (1854-1925) who pioneered high-speed printing and pulp paper that made publications more affordable than ever -- and he also authored some adventures yarns such as this. .
