Very good. Mild edgewear and bit of rubbing, with spine slightly age toned; 1907 ownership signature on inner flyleaf and circular inkstamped ownership initials on front flyleaf. A tight, quite nice first edition of this "Flag of Freedom Series" title, which issued the first three volumes in 1899 and three more up until 1902. Hawaii had just been annexed to the U.S. the previous year, causing a flurry of popular interest in this exotic destination. Author/publisher Edward Stratemeyer (1862-1930 -- Bonehill was one of his many pseudonyms) was an obscenely prolific scribbler of juvenile fiction. .
