Jacket faintly edgeworn, with spine ever-so-lightly sunned. First edition, tight and quite attractive, of this slim study of Rebel rhetoric by the well-known Lincoln scholar. Tipped to front flyleaf is the blank blue verso of a noted Lincoln collector's 3½" X 2" card, on which the author boldly pens in blue ballpoint: "Best wishes / in the study of Lincoln / Waldo W Braden / Oct 14, 1989." Braden (1911-91) was a noted Louisiana State University professor who authored this, "Building the Myth: Selected Speeches Memorializing Abraham Lincoln" and other Lincoln and Southern oral history titles. .
