Title: Description of the Galena and Elizabeth Quadrangles
Description: Washington, D.C. U.S. Geological Survey, 1966. Paperback. Folio (18¼" X 21 3/4"). Stiff tan wrappers with black cloth spine. 13pp. 2 partly-colored maps (each 2-page spread). Very good. Usual soiling and age toning to outer wrappers, especially to outer edges, but overall clean and tight. Maps are spotless and nice. Tight, nice "Galena-Elizabeth Folio," No. 200 in this series, with front cover title "Geological Atlas of the United States: Galena-Elizabeth Folio Illinois-Iowa." Technical geological description of this corner of northwest Illinois. Inside front and rear wrapper bear explanatory text by U.S. Geological Survey director George Otis Smith. From the library of Illinois Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III. Rather uncommon, and given its large size difficult to find in nice condition. .
