A tight and pristine first edition of this account by an officer with the Third Kentucky Infantry Regiment -- with choice autograph addition: Tipped to the inner flyleaf is a Typed Letter Signed from Tapp, 1p, 8½" X 11", Lexington, KY, 1958 July 10. Addressed to Arnold F. Gates (1914-93, noted Lincoln and Civil War scholar). On "Kentucky Civil War Round Table" letterhead, Tapp writes this fellow Civil War Round Table officer (Gates was long a fixture of the New York City group) to ask help in lining up speakers. Signed boldly in full in blue ballpoint. Very good. Original mailing folds. Tapp (1922-92) was a noted and prolific author and editor of Kentucky histories as well as chairman of the Kentucky Civil War Centennial Commission. .
