Jacket quite edgeworn, with small edge chips, but complete and fairly attractive nonetheless. A tight and nice first edition of the first book by this Wisconsin novelist and poet (1917-79), described on front jacket panel as "A tense, compassionate story of Midwestern family life." She boldly inscribes and signs the front flyleaf in blue ink, noting her real name as well: "For Triss Evans / with best wishes -- / Roberta Hill / (Betty Sebenthall)." Rather uncommon, especially signed. .
