Though internally tight and near fine, the spine and outer edges are quite sunned. Tight and decent later printing of this slim verse collection, with an interesting, ironic provenance: Front flyleaf bears the pencilled ownership signature, dated 1931, of well-known socialite Ellen Stevenson (nee Borden), wife (1929-48) of Illinois governor and twice presidential candidate Adlai E. Stevenson II (1900-65). The Stevensons were good friends of MacLeish, who upon Stevenson's death gave a memorial address at the U.N. General Assembly. .
