Addressed to Lincoln and Civil War scholar Arnold F. Gates (1914-93). Very good. On "Congress of the United States" letterhead of Bella S. Abzug, who Holzer served as press secretary, he chats cordially about various Civil War and bicentennial matters. Signed simply "Harold" in blue marker. Also present is a TLS from Neely, 8½" X 11", Fort Wayne, IN, 1975 January 13. Addressed to Arnold Gates. Very good. On "Lincoln National Life Foundation" letterhead citing Neely as director, he thanks Gates for some Lincoln material. Signed simply "Mark" in blue ink. A superb first of this acclaimed title with a vintage letter from each author. .
