A tight and attractive first edition of this history of the creation of sculptor Leonard Crunelle's moving statue of Lincoln, erected in Freeport on the 71st anniversary of the Lincoln-Douglas debate held there. Personal copy of noted sculptor Lily Tolpo (1917-2015), who created several Lincoln statues, including the life-size Lincoln and Douglas debate monument unveiled in Freeport in 1992 on the 134th anniversary of that event (and whose husband, Carl Tolpo, 1901-76, was a famed Lincoln sculptor). Tipped to the front flyleaf are two 5" X 3" heavy stock cards with Tolpo's inked notes about creating a limited edition of this statue, funding ideas, marketing notions (including Dave Thomas of "Wendy's" fame), etc. MONAGHAN 3229. .
