Title: Painting Gone Mad: A Collection of Articles from the Paris "Figaro.
Description: Chicago, Society for Sanity in Art, 1938. Paperback. Translation by Frank L. Emanuel. Small 8vo. Stiff tan pictorial wrappers. 36pp, (4pp ads). Very good. Almost a "Near fine," as it's tight and bright, with only a faint crease at lower right. Handsome reprint of this 1931 Sir Isaac Pitman & Sons (London) essay by the noted French art critic poking fun at the foibles of artists. Delightful front wrapper art depicts an artist in smock and knickers gazing upon the slender model posed for him, his grotesque interpretation of her visible on the canvas alongside him. A lovely copy. .
