Also notes that General Schofield, whom Rosecrans was replacing, is to report for duty to General Grant in Chattanooga. Signed at the conclusion in type by Assistant Adjutant General E.D. Townsend. Accompanied by a striking Civil War-era 6" X 9" heavy stock steel-engraved head-and-shoulders portrait of Hooker in uniform. Near fine. .
