McFadden with compliments of the composer / Boris Levenson / New York, Jan. 22, 1936." Levenson (1884-1947) was a Russian-born composer and conductor who immigrated to America in 1920 and is best known for his Jewish folk songs; McFadden was a St. Louis music educator and choral director. .
