A tight, decent later printing of this 1955 compilation from the 11-volume 1887 "Animal Locomotion" pioneering high-speed photography set. Features (to quote front jacket panel) "196 Plates (containing over 4700 individual photographs) from the famous Muybridge collection, chosen for their value to Artists, Doctors, and Researchers" -- this copy valued by the artist Art Geisert, a noted Midwest children's book etcher and author, who pens his ownership signature on the front flyleaf of the first volume. .
