Internally white, clean and nice; externally, the bindings are well-handled and rubbed and a bit soiled and mottled, with spines rather sunned; spine gilt on Part II badly rubbed, though on Part I it's bright. Tight, decent 2-volume subset of this self-contained portion of what's known as the "Official Records" or simply the "O.R." These two thick volumes contain Chapter XXXV of the overall set, described on the contents page as "Operations in Kentucky, Middle and East Tennessee, North Alabama, and Southwest Virginia." Part I consists of "Reports" and Part II of "Correspondence, Etc." First edition. Though homely, this pair is tight and quite handleable. .
