Author: WILLIAMS, Jonathan Title: The Loco Logodaedalist in Situ: Selected Poems 1968-70
Description: New York, Grossman Publishers, 1972. Paperback. Small 4to. Stiff pictorial wrappers. (Ca. 150pp). Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. Bit of mild wear and age toning to outer wrappers (only). Tight and nice first paperback edition of this verse collection -- with an unusual autograph addition: The first text page, titled "In Lieu of a Preface (Second Series)," begins three pages of quirky aphorisms and sayings from a wide array of writers, musicians, statesmen and you-name-it, the very first of which is "You can always tell white trash, but you can't tell it much." The contributor of this sentiment is A. DOYLE MOORE (1962 founder of fine press publisher Finial Press and head of the graphic design department at University of Illinois), who next to his statement boldly pens in black fineline: "Still true / July 1972 / Iowa City / A.D. Moore." An unusual copy. .
