On personal imprinted letterhead, this United Carbon Company executive transmits this inscribed booklet to the "Lincoln Herald" book reviewer and long-time officer of the New York Civil War Round Table, adding: "I appreciate your kind invitation to sit in on one of your Round Table meetings when I am in New York and shall certainly avail myself of such an opportunity.."
