Title: Anna: A Bicentennial Poem. ; Illustrations by the Author
Description: [New York], Stroker Press, 1976. Paperback. 8vo. Stiff orange wrappers. 14pp. Line drawings. Good +. Would grade higher but for couple of stains near bottom of front wrapper, visible but not terribly disfiguring. Second edition of this funky stream-of-consciousness narrative poem by this New York poet (1922-2004) set in Brattleboro, Vermont and ending memorably with "KISS MY ASS, AMERICA!" Inside front wrapper signed and inscribed large and bold by the author in blue ballpoint: "For pal Tony, / Ever ever, / Irving S. / March '77," with a quick sketch by him of what appears to be a mermaid gazing upward at a bird and stars in the sky. An interesting copy. .
