Title: The American Review of Reviews: January, 1931
Description: New York, The Review of Reviews Corporation, 1931. Paperback. (Vol. LXXXIII, No. 1). Small 4to. Stiff orange wrappers. 98pp. Numerous illustrations and advertisements, including a fun rear cover color ad for "Lucky Strike" cigarettes. Very good. Minor shelfwear and soiling -- overall tight and attractive. Contents include Thomas A. Edison's "Invention in the Life of Today," Ray Lyman Wilbur's "Toward a Better Child Life," Frederick A. Van Fleet's "Building a Ford Factory in Russia," George E. Roberts' "Why Are We Depressed?" and Frank H. Simonds' "Europe's Prospects for the New Year." Discrete ex-library, the only markings being a couple of slight inkstampings. Editor-journalist-historian Shaw (born 1857) founded this long-running monthly in 1891, and it pursued a broad agenda covering U.S. and world political, economic and social issues for decades. .
