Author: HALL, John (1913-79) Title: Signature / Unsigned Photograph
Description: The Hurricane" (1937) was by far this he-man actor's best-known film; when not dressed in a loincloth playing a poor man's Tarzan in "Ramar of the Jungle" (for television, 1952-54), he appeared in turbans in films such as "Arabian Nights" and "Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves"; committed suicide. Bold pencilled signature in the center of a vintage World War Two-era "Western Union" telegram form, 1p, 8½" X 7", n.p. n.y. Very good. Lightly, evenly age toned. Quite attractive printed lined form on which a telegram message would be written out longhand -- signed boldly by Hall, presumably for a fan encountered in a Western Union office. Nice example from the height of his fame. Accompanied by a handsome glossy black and white photograph, a head-and-shoulders portrait of a middle-aged Hall in military garb in an unidentified film role. Fine. .
