First edition of this lovely photographic tour of the Windy City, with text by the well-known Chicago writer and journalist Cromie. An interesting association copy, for the half-title page is inscribed large and bold in black fineline: "From / Phil Drell / For / Archie Lieberman." Drell was a noted Chicago photographer who, as a Jewish soldier in the U.S. Army Motion Picture Coverage Unit, documented the Nazi death camp horrors shortly after the war; he also covered D-Day and the liberation of Paris. Recipient Lieberman (1926-2008) is a noted Midwest photographer remembered for his 1974 title "Farm Boy. .
