HUMPHREY, George M. (1890-1970) - Signature / Unsigned Photograph

Title: Signature / Unsigned Photograph
Description: This high-power attorney and business executive gave up a $300,000 position to accept a $22,500 position when he became Eisenhower's treasury secretary (1953-57). Bold signature in blue ballpoint, heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p. 1969 June 17. Fine. With original envelope. Signed only seven months before his death. Accompanied by a superb original black-and-white glossy 1953 news agency photograph (International News Photo), 9" X 7". Original mimeographed newsprint text sheet present and tipped to verso (as issued). Fine image showing Humphrey half-length seated at his desk, reaching for the intercom.
