IPS, 11" X 14", n.p. n.d. [ca. mid-1930s]. Near fine. A superb sepia-tone head-and-shoulders glamour pose of a young and coy-looking Kirkland, inscribed in black fountain pen at lower right "For: Mrs. Wright / Affectionately / Muriel." "Mrs. Wright" was the wife of novelist Harold Bell Wright (1872-1944), author of such popular moralizing fiction as "The Shepherd of the Hills" and "The Winning of Barbara Worth." Also signed lightly at lower left by the photographer, "D'Gaggeri / Wilshire Blvd." A striking and lovely portrait of this starlet, in a size seldom seen. .
