Description: The noted English Army officer and aristocrat was noted as a civil administrator; as head of the British delegation to the Paris Exhibition in 1900, it was he responsible for commissioning Edwin Lutyens to build the British Pavilion; his sister was Gertrude Jekyll (1843-1932), the famed landscape gardener, painter and promoter of the Arts and Crafts movement. Bold signature in brown fountain pen, heavy stock 4" X 2¼" card, n.p. n.y. Very good. Slight age toning. Nice example, near the top edge of the card. .
