Accompanied by an unsigned item from his wife, Miriam Florence Leslie, the "Empress of Journalism" (1836-1914), who successfully managed his publishing empire after his death -- even having her name legally changed to Frank Leslie in 1882! Unsigned AN, 1p, 3½" X 2¼", n.p. n.d. Near fine. Heavy stock black-bordered calling card reading "Mrs. Frank Leslie" in a dainty Gothic script, below which she pens her address ("37 Queen Anne St / Cavendish Square"), large and bold. An unusual pair of items from this pioneering publishing pair. .
