The three-time Peabody winning, five-time Emmy winning broadcast journalist anchored CBS's "Sunday Morning" (1979-97) and gained a huge following for his "On the Road" segments. Signed booklet, "Fire Engines & Fire Fighters" edited by Gertrude M. Struck (Prairie du Chien, WI: Fire Engines and Firefighters, Spring 1972), a 24pp small 4to in stiff pictorial wrappers. Kuralt apparently brought his "On the Road" film crew to cover "The Great Fire Engine Race of America" event, at which time he signed this heavily pictorial souvenir booklet chronicling this annual race and fire-related tidbits. Near fine. On the front cover, which depicts an artist's rendering of a 19th century horse-drawn fire engine racing to a call, he inscribes it bold and large at upper left "For Milt -- / best! / Charles Kuralt." Quite unusual and attractive. .
