This is an excellent book for restorers or enthusiasts wanting to get an in-depth overall view of flatheads and OHV big twins. On the critical side, and it is tough finding something to criticise in this book; is the mention of generator testing tools (i.e. an A/C variable speed motor) to facillitate setting the amperage output of the 32E generator. The A/C (alternating current) variable speed motors do not exist in this day and age, or if they do where can the reader/mechanic find one? I still recommend this book, not only because it is in my opinion the finest service/history book written on the subject; I personally hope that the author decides to link his book to the service manual i have recently completed and now at press; "Mechanics & Owners Guide to 1941-1959 Harley-Davidson O.H.V. Big Twins" END If You're restoring a '37 to '64 Harley-Davidson then buy this book! It's a must have! You can find every detail in the book and an answer to almost every question You may have.
