This report briefly summarises the archaeological work of Operation Drake during the winter and spring of 1979 along the Atlantic coast of Panama. The historical summary and the archaeological results of four colonial sites are presented: The Scottish Darien Colony (1698 - 1700), the Spanish town of Acla (1515 - 1560), the Spanish Fort of San Fernando de la Carolina (1785 - 1793), and the wreck of the Scottish merchantman Olive Branch (sank 1699). A summary is also provided of the pottery and settlement of the indigenous population.
