Louisa Halford b. unknown d. 1865. Sir Henry Halford, Louisa Halford's father was physician to King George III, George IV and William IV and many other famous people of the time including The Duke Of Wellington. Two volumes, full leather, upper board of Tome Premier missing, 5 raised bands to spine, gilt title and patterning to spine and borders to boards outside and in, tooled pattern inside gilt border, bds rubbed at edges/corners, surface leather eaten away at btm corner of Premier Tome, spine hinges weakened in Tome Second and some wear at ends on both volumes, marbled pge edge blocks, and marbled endpapers, text in French, Tome Premier some light brown staining to endpapers and a little to edges of last few pages and at hinge of first few pages (stops at Preface), also marbled endpapers have some signs of damp staining at rear, Tome Second clean and tight, Tome Premier pp167, Tome Second pp365. A very interesting pair of volumes.
