In good condition. ~ FIRST EDITION. Atlas only, without the Dutch text volume. Boxman was Head of the Arms Factory in Hembrug Artillery for many years. In this mammoth work he discusses and explains in extreme detail the theory and practice of recoil operation guns and elaborates on the various systems of recoil operation. Principles, calculations, technique and mechanics are all studied thoroughly. The Atlas comprises of many more than 180 fine and very detailed technical illustrations of guns, cannons, carriages and their parts, accompanied by nomenclatures and extended explanations and measurements. Many of the plates are with short contemporary annotations and marking in red or blue pencil, some hand coloured for accentuation. As such, a most interesting copy. Y-1 .
