Many of the plates are folding. Hardcover, bound in half calf and pebbled boards, patterned endpapers; corners rubbed. Backstrip gone, but the interior of the book is in a supereb condition and all the plates, including the many folding ones, are rather crisp. Binding is very solid, the cloth inner hinges are perfect, and the gatherings tight. ~ First edition. Very rare complete set of the first three volumes of this outstanding work.
