It was published from 1880 to 1924 under the direction of Eugène Revillout (the first five years under the direction of Heinrich Brugsch and François Chabas), suspended during the years 1914-1918, and resumed in 1919 as a new series under the direction of Alexandre Moret and Pierre Jouguet.
