In fine internal condition, very clean and neat. ~ First French edition. Translated from the 4th German edition by A. Kuhn and D. M. Levi. Anton Friedrich von Tröltsch (1829-1890), pioneer of modern otology. Professor of Otology at Würzburg, where renowned otologists Friedrich Bezold (1842-1908) and Abraham Kuhn (1838-1900) were his students. He invented the modern otoscope and devised the first modern mastoid operation which was first performed in England in 1868 by Hinton. Tröltsch was a co-founder of the Archiv für Ohrenheilkunde.
