Formerly in the library of the Meadville Theological School with old bookplate to first paste-down and single neat perforated stamp to title-page of each volume. Richard Theodore Ely (1854-1943), American economist, one of the most influential economists of his time. Founder of the American Economic Association. He wrote successful academic textbooks, such as "Outlines of economics" and "An Introduction to Political Economy" (both offered by Librarium). "Ely was a stimulating teacher who exerted a profoundly liberating influence on his students, many of whom became distinguished scholars or public figures." (Sills. IESS 1972.) "Property and Contract", though part of a massive output of articles and editorial work, was Ely's main published contribution. Z-3 OUT .
