Including a coloured map drawn by Prof. Erman. II: Pp. vi including 2nd divisional-title, (i), 34. Plus 10 lithographic plates, mostly fold-out or double-page, these with scholarly pencil annotations and hieroglyphic writing in neat contemporary hand. Text illustrations; indices. HARDCOVER, bound in the original publisher's cloth and printed boards; spine worn in places, paper on boards scuffed in places, inner hinges cracked. In good condition. ~ FIRST EDITION. [Provenance:] A signature "Gunn" to first flyleaf. Most likely identifying this as the working copy of renowned Egyptologist Battiscombe George Gunn (1883-1950), with his pencil annotations, cross-references, hieroglyphic writing, etc. to some of the plates ad their verso.
