Dewel) & 40 folding engraved plates (complete), 3rd edition (Editio tertia ab authore recognita, novis observationibus & inventis pluribusque figuris aucta), 22cm. title page in black and red, text in latin, modern blind wrappers, handwritten ex-libris on title page '"ex libris Van Meldert 1790", text and plates are bright and clean except for some marginal foxing and few occasional spots, good condition (despite its modern wrappers), [Philippus Verheyen, 1648-1710, was a Flemish surgeon. He teached anatomy and surgery at the University of Louvain and later became 'rector magnificus'. This work was published as a anatomical textbook for his students (first edition = 1693), and became widely spread throughout Europe.
